I try to get to this wonderful place at least once a month. The ambiance is cheery and delightful, staff, and chef/owner are exceptionally welcoming, and food is always outstanding. The cold dishes are cold and the hot ones are hot, which for me adds as much to enjoyment as variations in texture and flavor. I've never been disappointed here. Their annual Lunar New Year Menu, coming in late January, is a wonderful treat.

Delicious food, great service, and fun fabrics decorating the tables! I had a fried rice dish that was very good, and my parents had and enjoyed turmeric chicken. My friend's family that enjoys Malaysian food has loved this place for a long time- a delicious spot that's been around for a long time!

I was chatting with a fellow food enthusiast about potential excursions, and she was having none of my pro-suburb rhetoric. More NYC-focused, she said I shouldn't invite her anywhere "on the Pascack Valley line." My NJ Transit staycations are more for trees and amateur sociology than the cuisine, but A Taste of Asia lands on my best of '24 list. It's great to find such big flavors in a small town. The menu is perhaps confusingly long, but the pulut panggang appetizer was marked spicy, was new to me and involved a banana leaf so that was enough. I got belacan string beans for the entree; the intense sauce involved multiple food groups. I also liked the mango iced tea.

A really fine discovery. The food was excellent across the board -- especially liked the pandan chicken and char kuey teow -- and service was both attentive and friendly. It's a nicely decorated and comfortable restaurant, if a bit loud. But that's a minor issue. We will be returning.

This is a great casual spot for dinner with friends or family who want to eat family style. There is so many choices of what to order and try. My personal favorite was the kimchi beef dumplings. It is also BYOB.
